The 2014 edition of Celebrity Big Brother is well underway, with Evander Holyfield, Jasmine Waltz and Lionel Blair already evicted from the house. With our special infographic, we take a look at some footballers who could add to the entertainment on the show but might be among the favourites in the Big Brother betting for an the early evictions.

El-Hadji Diouf is top of our list of potential Celebrity Big Brother participants. The “Serial expectorator” would certainly provide plenty of entertainment and his run-ins with fellow housemates would be compulsive viewing - particularly if he was joined by fans of either Celtic or West Ham. However, the former Senegalese international has a habit of rubbing people the wrong way and his spitting antics don’t seem to warm him to those around him. Therefore, we expect that, if he were to ever appear on the show, he would rank high in the Big Brother betting for the first evictee.

Next in line is everyone’s favourites explosive Italian, Paolo di Canio. As both a player and a manager, the talented forward has commanded plenty of column inches with his antics and an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother would likely create plenty more headlines - especially if he was paired with his old friend Paul Alcock. The Italian’s passionate outbursts might make him a favourite with the viewers but Big Brother is likely to look at things differently and he may well face a punishment worse than the 11 match ban imposed for flooring Alcock - plus an early eviction by his housemates.

Sure to be the enforcer in the house, Duncan Ferguson would strike fear into the hearts of the other residents if he joined the show. The Everton legend is as famous for his violent altercations as he is for his goals and, if his temper boiled over again, the betting would suggest that his housemates would be keen to say goodbye quickly. Having spent time in prison for an assault on John McStay while playing for Rangers, the striker didn’t go that far during his long stint on Merseyside but certainly worried his opponents whenever things got a little tetchy and his presence in the Big Brother house would certainly be interesting. He might have the potential to stay a bit longer but the Big Brother betting would certainly expect an early exit if he starts to get naughty.

If his tweeting is anything to go on, Joey Barton would likely be one of the most entertaining housemates ever if he went on Celebrity Big Brother. Never short of an opinion, the midfielder has attacked some pretty big targets with his tweets, while also providing some more philosophical thoughts about life. His visits to the diary room would make for fantastic television although it remains to be seen whether he would use his French accent when speaking with Big Brother! However, with his comments likely to anger those around him, the Big Brother betting would probably suggest that he would be on the eviction list sooner rather than later.

Last on the list is the man that everyone except Liverpool fans loves to hate, Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan is undoubtedly a fantastic footballer and his performances this season have lit up the Premier League. However, his record of offences - including the most recent when he bit Branislav Ivanovic - have hardly endeared him to the rest of the football world and could well make him an unpopular resident of the house. If he could keep his teeth to himself he may last a few weeks more, if not he would be one of the favouites in the Big Brother betting for an early eviction.
